Welcome to the Third Grade!

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
I hope you all had a wonderful summer vacation and are excited to start a new school year! I am looking forward to meeting all of you. I would like to start by introducing myself. I graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2016 and this is my first year of teaching. I have a concentration in Spanish, ESL, and Math. Originally, I am from Greenville, North Carolina where I first fell in love with children and knew I wanted to become a teacher. I have a passion for learning and helping others find the same joy in learning as I do. As a child, third grade was my favorite year and I am lucky to have the opportunity to have my own third grade class. I enjoy playing tennis, being crafty, and of course teaching!

I hope to develop a bond with each and every one you. I want all of my students to be comfortable in the classroom and to not be afraid to ask questions. REMEMBER: You can never ask too many questions! In order for students to learn at their full potential, they must have the best learning environment possible. If there are any concerns, I can always be contacted by e-mail. My contact information is listed on the contact information tab in my blog. Throughout the year I will be posting assignments, helpful learning tools, fun extra credit activities, information for parents, information about events happening in the school and anything else I find important on my blog. It is a great resource to stay up to date with the class happenings!

I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us. I have so many fun activities planned! Third grade is a very exciting year! Not only will we travel through space together learning about each of the planets in our solar system, but we will also race to the moon using our multiplication tables. We will also travel around the world together, learning about the continents, oceans, and the beautiful earth in which we live. I am anticipating a successful school year and excited to have you all on board! Students, get ready to be challenged and to celebrate your knowledge!

                                        Love,

                                             Ms. Hostetler
